about

A song about the trip I took with family following my mother's death to lay some of her ashes and plant a sunflower. I recorded an album on my feelings from that year. I have grown, and can appreciate how far I have come since.

lyrics

Sunflower on Black Mountain why the long face
You rest easy in this beautiful space
Rain or shine you catch the view
Rain or shine why stay blue

you betta

Treat yourself while the rose is in bloom
Treat yourself to a few laughs and good food
Treat yourself and enjoy something new
Treat yourself because this I owe you
This I owe you

Sunflower sitting pretty on Sacred Lake
Listen to that breeze hear it call out your name
I hear it too, there's nothing to worry
I hear it too, though history is blurry

you betta

Treat yourselves while the rose is in bloom
Treat yourself and howl at the moon
Treat yourselves while the sky changes hue
Treat yourself because this world don't know you
This world don't know you

Sunflower rest easy on the top of the hill
On this path I remember every rock twig and step
You were the youngest and still you got ill
So I won't rest until these bones lay still
These bones lay still

I betta

Treat myself while the rose is in bloom
Treat myself to all the birds singin tunes
Treat myself and smile at doom
Treat myself because this I owe you
This I owe you
